Boston Bruins: Untamed Passion
As part of the "Original Six," the Boston Bruins were founded in 1924 at the behest of an American named Charles Adams. The NHL awarded Adams a Boston franchise as one of the league's first expansion teams. He immediately hired veteran player Art Ross, who would carve the persona of the team over the next 3 decades with his own passion and personality.
Before The War
The Bruins got off to a rocky start, but improved quickly. By 1926, they had earned a spot in the Stanley Cup Finals, though they were eventually flattened by the Ottawa Senators. However, in 1929, the team returned to the Finals and won their first Stanley Cup. The 1930's were productive for the franchise and they often led their division. However, their attempts to win another championship were frustrated and the franchise was forced to wait until 1939 before winning their second Stanley Cup. But, their momentum was strong and in 1941, they dominated the NHL and won their third Stanley Cup.
After The War
World War II decimated the NHL, but the Bruins were affected more than most. Several of their top players had enlisted and the franchise lost its momentum. The ensuing years were difficult. It would be 1969 before the team would regain the Stanley Cup and its post at the top of the league.
The next thirty years would be filled with success and disappointment. While the Bruins won the fourth Stanley Cup in 1972, it would be their last to date. Though they consistently earned a place at the playoffs, the team was predictably beaten by other franchises. Finally, in June of 2007, massive changes were made in the coaching lineup with the hope of turning the team's fortunes around.

The Boston Bruins call the TD Banknorth Garden arena home. After two years of construction and $160 million, the stadium opened in 1995 to seat 17,565 fans. Tickets to see the Bruins in action can be purchased for as little as $8. While the low ticket prices are a welcome benefit to budget-conscious fans, they often spur sales. Seats for individual games tend to sell out on or before the day of the event. To watch the Bruins live, purchase your tickets early to reserve your place at the game.
